Going Green
Temple Skincare & Spa tries our best to limit our carbon footprint.
We have access to the Hills Lodge recycling systems, which meets international hotel standards. This means that we separate our recyclable items into general waste and cardboard boxes or paper items. We have a recycling system for our plastic and cardboard waste. We have a stock bin where all the empty professional products are placed before taken off the stock levels. All this packaging is disposed of in the recycling bins.
The Temple Team uses environmentally friendly products/procedures wherever possible, for example we only purchase eco-friendly bin bags and reuse empty containers where bulk decanting is involved.
We only provide disposable spa wear for wet-treatment rituals and provide reusable sterile spa slippers.
In addition, we make use of rechargeable candles instead of battery-operated candles and have sourced non-acid causing laundry detergent and cleaning materials to prevent soil contamination through water sources.
Overall, our spa operates on green principles which means that we are mindful to switch off electrical equipment, lights, and appliances overnight. We use energy regulating LED globes throughout the spa to reduce electrical consumption and interview our suppliers on their sustainability and sourcing practices before taking on their products.
We only support and use Conscious Suppliers. We carefully source our products from companies who have a strong sustainability ethic like ours.
We regularly give back to initiatives through our charity arm, Temple Hearts, because people and animals are as much a part of the environment as the beautiful scenery and resources, we all enjoy.
From an administrative perspective, we know that spas and clinics have in the past largely contributed to paper waste for client cards, brochures and similar. We have allocated an iPad to each treatment room as well as reception, so check in and record keeping at the spa is completely paper free. We have digitised all our marketing as well.
We have a few environmental warriors in our team to encourage new ideas and welcome feedback from you as well.
