With a deep-rooted passion for skincare and a commitment to delivering transformative experiences to her clients, Temple Skincare & Spa Director/Owner, Rene Herald, has established herself as a prominent figure in the industry. Her dedication to ongoing education and innovation is what sets her and her spa apart.
According to Rene, “for us in the Temple Team, one of our core values is education. Education is key. We constantly invest in training and education for all staff. They are our biggest asset when it comes to delivering excellent service and skincare advice to each of our clients. It is an honour for our clients to trust us for the very best advice we offer them as we guide them on their journey towards their best skin yet, so it’s our responsibility to make sure we are top of our field with the knowledge we need to be able to give accurate and wholistic advice to our clients and always with honesty and integrity at the forefront.
When we are educated, we have the knowledge and ability to offer personalised experiences: Every client is unique, and their needs may vary. The Quest for Innovation: Germaine de Capuccini HQ
Germaine de Capuccini, a global leader in professional skincare, is known for its cutting-edge products and commitment to research and development. The company’s headquarters in Spain serves as a hub for innovation, where experts from around the world convene to explore new frontiers in skincare.
As a GDC Platinum Spa, Rene and the Temple Team were invited to the corporate and training offices, as well as granted exclusive access to their laboratory and manufacturing/packing centres. The visit was to gain insights into Germaine de Capuccini’s latest innovations in body glow and hydration treatments; and most importantly, treating hyperpigmentation. This is a common skin concern characterised by the overproduction of melanin, resulting in dark spots or patches on the skin.

Hyperpigmentation, a common and growing skin concern, can be triggered by various factors. Culprits include prolonged sun exposure, which leads to sunspots and freckles, as well as hormonal changes during pregnancy or with the use of birth control pills, often causing melasma. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can also occur after skin trauma, such as acne or skin injuries.
To combat these uneven skin tone concerns, a range of treatments is available. These may include topical solutions like skin-lightening creams containing ingredients such as hydroquinone, kojic acid, or glycolic acid. Chemical peels and microdermabrasion are popular in-spa treatments that gently exfoliate the skin’s surface, gradually diminishing pigmentation. Laser therapies, including fractional laser and intense pulsed light (IPL), can target deep-seated pigmentation issues effectively. Proper skincare routines, along with sunscreen application, are crucial in managing and preventing further hyperpigmentation. The journey to Spain provided Rene and the team with more tools into advanced treatments that can be integrated into The Temple Skincare & Spa’s already successful offerings to help clients combat hyperpigmentation and achieve radiant, even-toned skin.
The Immersive Experience
Temple was also able to visit GDC’s state-of-the-art laboratories, where they witnessed the meticulous process of product development firsthand. There is the highest standards in quality control in the lab and in the manufacturing centres.
They also had the privilege of attending training and masterclasses conducted by the GDC dermatologists and skincare professionals. These sessions delved into the science behind hyperpigmentation, including the role of advanced ingredients, the latest technologies, and innovative treatment protocols.

Discovering Breakthrough Products
During their visit, Rene Herald and her team were introduced to Germaine de Capuccini’s latest breakthrough products designed to target hyperpigmentation. These products were formulated with cutting-edge ingredients such as advanced peptides, botanical extracts, and proprietary technologies that have demonstrated remarkable results in clinical trials. The new hyperpigmentation range for example is a cosmetic substitute for medical-aesthetic laser procedures, appreciated for its tolerance, efficiency, safety, and enduring results.
Powered by GDC’s patented HLG Nanopolymer technology, and utilising its remarkable hydrating and nourishing capabilities, it facilitates a continuous delivery of essential ingredients, promoting skin nourishment and delivering comprehensive anti-ageing benefits. This nanopolymer harnesses the potential of Hyaluronic Acid, Lysine, and Glutamic Acid to achieve its effects, all of which have been rigorously tested and clinically proven for their efficacy.
Among the benefits of the HLG Nanopolymer are:
– Amplifies the effectiveness of Pure Vitamin C by six times
– Deeply nourishes the skin, ensuring a consistent and gradual release of active ingredients
– Enhances the formula’s advantages, all while providing an exceptional level of skin hydration
This, combined with 18 other ingredients designed to optimally dose and infuse the skin with active ingredients make the new Pigment Treatment range a skincare line to covet. The treatment kits lighten, reduce and correct dark spots, including solar lentigines, melasma and post-inflammatory spots. The result? A smooth, luminous, even tone.
